Abigail Bishop, LMT #11569

Abigail graduated from the 650 hour program at The Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC, in 2016. She is an advocate for holistic health, and believes in treating the mind and body as a whole. She firmly believes that it is not up to a “healer” or outside expert to create effective change, but that our bodies are powerful self-healing organisms that are constantly working to create homeostasis. She believes in the power of massage to assist in that process and that it has incredible pain and stress relieving potential.

Abigail has further training in prenatal, postpartum, lymphatic drainage, and craniosacral therapy. She also has a special interest in the perinatal period, from preconception to postpartum and beyond.

As a mother and outdoor lover, she understands the importance of optimal health in order to live your best life. When she’s not massaging, she enjoys reading and spending time in nature. She lives in Spartanburg, SC, with her husband, daughter and two cats.

Services

  • Whether you are looking for integrative massage for pain relief or relaxation, lymphatic drainage, or prenatal/postpartum massage, we will work together to create a holistic service that’s right for you.

  • Prenatal massage has been shown to have positive effects on aches and pain during pregnancy, is effective for relieving stress, and improved sleep quality. By practicing relaxing during pregnancy, tapping into that state during labor and birth is much easier.

Postpartum massage has been used for millennia to nourish the new mother and reintegrate her with her body post-pregnancy. This is a time for warming, nourishing touch and gentle release.

  • This light touch therapy has profound benefits for pain relief, nervous system regulation, and soft tissue therapy. Following tension patterns in the body, craniosacral therapy uses gentle touch and movement to release restrictions and build greater nervous system/brain/body integration.

  • Craniosacral therapy has been shown to be an effective first line treatment for restrictions in babies as young as a day old. It has been extremely effective in treating tongue ties (before or after revisions), chronic ear and sinus infections, headaches, coordination issues, and more.
